What makes Domo stand out

While both Domo and Looker are cloud-based business intelligence and data analytics platforms, there are a number of capabilities within Domo that make it the more robust and intelligent platform:

Ease of use: Despite the thousands of tools and capabilities within Domo, the platform is incredibly user-friendly with most tools requiring little to no coding to use. Looker’s tools, while flexible, have a steeper learning curve.

Speed: Whether you’re working with millions of pieces of data or a few hundred, Domo provides rapid insights which accelerate decision making. Additionally, with Domo’s automation features, teams can spend less time on time-consuming, repetitive, and manual BI tasks like back-end data integration and focus on more important tasks.

Enhanced mobile app: With Domo, users have access to all business data anytime, anywhere, and from any device with the robust mobile app. Users can easily collaborate with customers and partners, create data visualizations and reports, and drill deeper into data—all from their mobile device.

Looker’s mobile application only allows users to perform simple tasks such as viewing reports, sharing content, accessing boards they’re following, and navigating to content in folders. The application does not allow for further data exploration or modeling and users cannot perform routine tasks such as scheduling meetings or responding to messages.

Connectors: Currently, Looker connects with Redshift, Snowflake, and BigQuery and has more than 50 supported SQL dialects. Often third-party tools are required to connect to other data sources. Domo, on the other hand, has more than 1,000 pre-built data connectors, allowing you to connect and unite all business data no matter where it’s stored.

Robust data analysis tools: While both Looker and Domo allow users to perform data analysis, Domo’s vast library of data visualization tools enables users to create rich, personalized data reports and dashboards.

Security and Governance: Looker’s security capabilities are built directly on top of your existing database. While this does keep data secure, it limits the flow of data.

Domo’s rich security features are built into every layer of your platform and feature personalized data access down to the row. These customizable permissions ensure data can move freely while preventing unauthorized or outside users from accessing sensitive or confidential data.
