Domopalooza—Domo’s annual event—is always a celebration of data. This year, it was also a celebration of the legendary business impact people are having with data—on their careers, teams, and companies. And this is exactly what Domo has always been about: putting data insights into everyone’s hands so they can make quick, smart decisions that move the business forward. 

Josh’s keynote on the power of data experiences to spark bold curiosity, drive action, and deliver impact, set the tone for the event, which included 22 sessions—incredible opportunities, from customer stories to live roundtables, to get inspired by how people are leveling up their businesses with data.

1. Domo CEO Josh James’ Visionary Keynote on Why Data Should be an Experience 

CEO and founder Josh James opened Domopalooza—which had almost 8,000 registrants from around the globe—by sharing the vision behind Domo’s data experience platform:  

“Data should be an experience! It should meet each individual where, when, and how they need it to have and act on the insights that move the needle.” 

Josh talked about the power of data experiences to turn occasional data observers into business impact owners. He made it clear that the real heroes changing the game are the data scientists, frontline managers, and even people driving the delivery vehicles. Anyone brave enough to ask hard questions should feel enabled by data experiences to get and act on the answers.

2. Author Liz Wiseman on How Information Creates and Supports Impact Players 

How often do you get the chance to hear from the incredible leader and best-selling author Liz Wiseman? At Domopalooza, we got to revel in her expertise during a one-on-one live interview.  

Liz talked about empowering people with free-flowing, trusted information and data so they can do their best work. She said something that perfectly captures Domo’s mission: 

“If you want your team to be brilliant, give them access to information and insight they can turn into impact.” 

When you make the process of accessing, working with, and acting on that information an incredible experience—and this is exactly what Domo does as a data experience platform—you completely change how work gets done. It’s a win-win: employees do their best work and companies get top outcomes.

3. Domo Customers Showed Us How They Multiply Their Impact with Data 

Domopalooza showcases the business impact that happens when you put data to work for everyone. And the Domo community is living proof of the innovation and achievement that’s possible with a data experience platform.  

We had the chance to hear from Regional One Health, Constellium, Sephora, CleanChoice, and other customers doing amazing things with the power of data.  

CleanChoice Energy’s story about how it unified data in Domo to democratize access and get clean energy to customers is especially compelling. Kate Colarulli, Chief Corporate Development Officer at CleanChoice said it best: 

“What Domo did, is make it so you don’t have to be a data scientist to understand what the data is telling you. You can be an operations analyst, you can be a marketing manager, and you are looking at that same information and able to make the strategic choices, in real-time.”

4. Domo CTO Daren Thayne on New Features that Put the Power of Data in Your Hands 

Domo CTO Daren Thayne gave attendees a sneak peek into many exciting new features—tools that work in unison to empower people to go from insight to action. Daren said: 

“To thrive in the future, data needs to be accessible and actionable, putting the power directly into the hands of people.” 

From App Studio—Domo’s new low-code app builder that makes it easy for less technical users to create and distribute Domo Apps, to Workflows—a low-code integration and automation tool that helps businesses streamline processes and do more with less, these new product announcements reflect years of curiosity and research.

We are on a mission to help people multiply their impact. At Domopalooza, we shared content designed to educate through real-word customer stories, opportunities to network and knowledge share with peers facing—and overcoming—similar challenges, and practical tips to empower you no matter where you sit in the organization or what your fluency with data might be.
