Domo Named to Parity.org Best Companies for Women to Advance List
SILICON SLOPES, Utah – July 14, 2020 – Domo (Nasdaq: DOMO) has been named to the Parity.org Best Companies for Women to Advance List 2020. This list recognizes organizations that have implemented a mix of exemplary benefits, policies, and programs that ensure women have significant opportunities to advance their careers.
Companies on the list were rated in areas of recruitment, benefits, executive preparation, measurement, and representation. These companies have made a significant commitment to the advancement of women.
“I’m proud that Domo was one of the first companies to sign the ParityPledge, a commitment to interview at least one woman for every role VP and higher within our organization,” said Josh James, founder and CEO, Domo. “We believe it is crucial to create an environment where women have access to the same upward mobility as their male counterparts and that it takes creating deliberate policies and benefits to make that possible. We have an open dialogue with employees, as well as our female leaders and board members, to find out what we can do better to ensure female employees can advance their careers and take senior leadership positions while balancing the needs of their personal lives, and we’ll continue to build on this foundation.”
Since taking the ParityPledge, Domo increased the percentage of women leaders on its board of directors from zero to 43%. Among its additional initiatives to support gender parity, Domo introduced policies that support employees with families or who are starting a family. These include parental leave of at least three months, flexible working hours, subsidized childcare and work-from-home options. Domo recently rolled out additional maternity offerings, providing 100% paid leave to mothers a month prior to their due date, aimed at helping remove additional stress on soon-to-be mothers.
“We are thrilled to announce the Best Companies for Women to Advance List 2020,” said Cathrin Stickney, Parity.org founder and CEO. “These companies are examples of commitment and intentionality in leveling the playing field for women and paving the way for them to succeed and advance their careers, making gender parity at the top levels possible. The efforts they have undertaken are not just worth recognizing, they are worth emulating. We hope that more companies will follow their lead and take similar actions to pave the way for the women in their organization to advance.”
Companies that made the 2020 list share several common best practices that are significant in helping women balance work and home life, including work-from-home or telecommute options (95%), flexible working hours (84%), and equal paid family leave for men and women (76%). Companies who made the list were also very likely to measure and report on gender parity to the Executive team (97%) and/or Board of Directors (70%).
