Domo scholarship

SILICON SLOPES, Utah – October 16, 2013 – Today, Domo announced it has selected Brigham Young University’s Dustin Youngberg and Arizona State University’s Alyson Tolman as the winners of the Domo Scholarship for Business Management program.

The Domo Scholarship for Business Management program, launched this year, was designed to help the next generation of leaders compete as data’s role in day-to-day business rapidly increases in both practice and importance.

In addition to completing a survey, scholarship applicants were asked to write a 500-word essay about the role of data in business management. Applicants were judged on the clarity and originality of their essays. Nearly 4,000 students competed for this year’s two $2,500 awards.

“Through Domo’s scholarship program, we wanted to encourage business students to focus on the importance of data in everyday management decisions,” said Josh James, founder and CEO of Domo. “Through the essays we received, it is clear that this up-and-coming generation of leaders is acutely aware of, and excited by, data’s expanding role in business management.”

Dustin Youngberg is a student of BYU’s Marriott School of Management, majoring in information systems management. Among his extra curricular activities, he enjoys sports, playing the piano, web and mobile development and entrepreneurship. He expects to graduate in the spring of 2014.

Alyson Tolman is a student of ASU’s W.P. Carey School of Management, majoring in business management. She enjoys entrepreneurship and expects to graduate in the spring of 2015.

The application process for next year’s scholarship will open next summer. For more information, visit http://www.domo.com/#scholarship.
