Empowering 2,400 Employees with Visual Management: Our Company’s Journey to Data Literacy

Over the last three years, Balfour Beatty, a multinational infrastructure group based in the United Kingdom, invested in Domo to enable faster and more effective understanding of how our global business performs (over $4B in the US). In the last year, we shifted from primarily leader-usage to empowering operations employees by focusing on visualizing key work performed at the front line (e.g., sales, procurement, execution). A key driver was eliminating the waste of over-processing by operations teams to prepare for various meetings. Two specific use cases are our monthly project assessment (affects 200 major projects at any one time) and our weekly sales meetings. Instead of manually duplicating data, we developed a way for teams to see how core work is performing based on their day-to-day work (no additional effort). We automatically pull data from numerous core systems (e.g., CRM, JMS) and see a wide range of core processes ranging from sales, safety, contracting, and issue resolution to overall financial performance.
