Intro

The OpenAir Connector enables professional services organizations the ability to run their core business operations including project management, resource optimization, project accounting, time and expense management, and billing and revenue recognition. To learn more about the OpenAir API, visit their page (https://www.openair.com/download/OpenAirXMLAPIGuide.pdf ). You can connect to your OpenAir account in the Data Center. This topic discusses the fields and menus that are specific to the OpenAir connector user interface. To add DataSets, set update schedules, and edit DataSet information, see Adding a DataSet Using a Data Connector.

Prerequisites

To connect to your OpenAir account and create a DataSet, you must have the following:
  • The user ID and password for your company’s OpenAir account.
  • The company ID for the account.
  • The URL for the account’s OpenAir instance.
  • The account’s API namespace.
  • The account’s API key.
To obtain the API namespace and key, reach out to your OpenAir account representative.

Connecting to Your OpenAir Account

This section enumerates the options in the Credentials and Details panes in the OpenAir Connector page. The components of the other panes in this page, Scheduling and Name & Describe Your DataSet, are universal across most connector types and are discussed in great detail in Adding a DataSet Using a Data Connector.

Credentials Pane

This pane contains fields for entering credentials to connect to your OpenAir account. The following table describes what is needed for each field:

Description

User ID

Enter the user ID for your company’s OpenAir account.

Password

Enter the password for your company’s OpenAir account.

Company ID

Enter the company ID associated with the account.

URL

Enter the URL for the account’s OpenAir instance.

Namespace

Enter this account’s OpenAir API namespace. This value is received from NetSuite upon being granted access to the OpenAir API.

API Key

Enter this accounts OpenAir API key. This value is received from NetSuite upon being granted access to the OpenAir API.

Once you have entered valid OpenAir credentials, you can use the same account any time you go to create a new OpenAir DataSet. You can manage connector accounts in the Accounts tab in the Data Center. For more information about this tab, see Managing User Accounts for Connectors.

This pane contains a single menu from which you select a report.

Select the OpenAir report you want to run. The following reports are available:

Include Custom Fields Select this option if you would like custom fields to be returned with the dataset you have selected.
Date Type Filter Select the required Date Type Filter to filter the records.

Note: Please select None, to return complete data
User IDs Enter the comma separated (,) values of User Ids for which the report should run. User Ids can be found in Users report.

Note: If User Id’s are not provided, then report will run for the current user.
Duration Select the duration for the report (a Single Date, or a Date Range).
Single Date Select whether the report data is for a specific date or for a relative number of days back from today.
Specific Date Select the specific date using the date selector.
Relative Date Enter the number of days back that you would like to get data for in the Days Back field. Specify either today or 0, yesterday or 1, or today-7 or 7 to get data for 7 days into the past.
Date Range Select the specific or relative date range.
Start Date - Specific Select the first date in your date range using the date selector.
End Date - Specific Select the last date in your date range using the date selector.
Start Date - Relative

Enter the number of days back that you would like to get data from (start day). Combine with End Date to create a range of represented days.

For example, if you entered 10 for Start Date and 5 for End Date , the report would contain data for 10 days ago up until 5 days ago.

End Date - Relative

Enter the number of days back that you would like to get data to (end day). Combine with Start Date to create a range of represented days.

For example, if you entered 10 for Start Date and 5 for End Date , the report would contain data for 10 days ago up until 5 days ago.
