Intro

VK is a Russian-based online social media and social networking service. It is available in several languages but is especially popular among Russian-speaking users. You can connect to your VK account in the Data Center. This topic discusses the fields and menus that are specific to the VK connector user interface. To add DataSets, set update schedules, and edit DataSet information, see Adding a DataSet Using a Connector.

Prerequisites

To connect to your VK account and create a DataSet, you need the following:
  • Application ID
  • Application Secure Key

Connecting to Your VK Account

This section enumerates the options in the Credentials and Details panes on the VK Connector page. The components of the other panes on this page, Scheduling, and Name & Describe Your DataSet, are universal across most connector types and are discussed in great detail in Adding a DataSet Using a Connector.

Credentials Pane

This pane contains fields for entering credentials to connect to your VK account. The following table describes what is needed for each field:

Description

Application ID Enter the Application ID of your VK App.
Application Secure Key Enter the Secure Key assigned to your VK App.
Once you have entered valid VK credentials, you can use the same account at any time to create a new VK DataSet. You can manage connector accounts in the Accounts tab in the Data Center. For more information about this tab, see Manage Connector/Adapter Accounts.

Report

Select the VK report you want to run. The following reports are available:

Report Name Description

Community Wall Posts

Returns a list of posts on the wall of a Community that the authenticated user is a member of.

Users

Returns the information about users.
User IDs

Enter the IDs of the users for whom you want to search separated by a comma.

You can leave this field blank to return information about the authenticated user.

Community Select the community whose Wall Posts should be returned.
