Intro

AWS IoT Analytics is a fully-managed service that makes it easy to run and operationalize sophisticated analytics on massive volumes of IoT data without worrying about the cost and complexity typically required to build an IoT analytics platform. It is the easiest way to run analytics on IoT data and get insights to make better and more accurate decisions for IoT applications and machine learning use cases. You can route data through pipelines for data normalization and other processing, store time series data, and analyze the resulting data with data science tools in the Amazon Cloud. Use the Domo AWS IoT Analytics connector to receive data about time series data points, channels, datasets, datastores, pipelines, and more. With your data in Domo, you can analyze all of your IoT Analytics data in one simple dashboard, get alerts on your data, and collaborate with others on the data in one platform. You can connect to your Amazon Web Services IoT Analytics account in the Data Center. This topic discusses the fields and menus that are specific to the Amazon Web Services IoT Analytics connector user interface. To add DataSets, set update schedules, and edit DataSet information, see Adding a DataSet Using a Connector.

Prerequisites

To connect to your Amazon Web Services IoT Analytics account and create a DataSet, you need the following:
  • Amazon Web Services Access Key and Secret Key.
  • AWS IoT Analytics service region.

Connecting to Your Amazon Web Services IoT Analytics Account

This section enumerates the options in the Credentials and Details panes on the Amazon Web Services IoT Analytics Connector page. The components of the other panes on this page, Scheduling, and Name & Describe Your DataSet, are universal across most connector types and are discussed in great detail in Adding a DataSet Using a Connector.

Credentials Pane

This pane contains fields for entering credentials to connect to your Amazon Web Services IoT Analytics account. The following table describes what is needed for each field:

Field

Description

Access Key Enter the Amazon Web Services Access Key.
Region Select the AWS Iot Analytics service region.
Secret Key Enter the Amazon Web Services Secret Key.
Once you have entered valid Amazon Web Services IoT Analytics credentials, you can use the same account any time to create a new Amazon Web Services IoT Analytics DataSet. You can manage connector accounts in the Accounts tab in the Data Center. For more information about this tab, see Manage Connector Accounts.

Details Pane

Menu

Description

Report

Select the Amazon Web Services IoT Analytics report you want to run. The following reports are available:

Report Name Description

Get Dataset Content

Returns the time series dataset stored in AWS IoT Analytics. Requires Athena query to query the data into a CSV dataset. See the Amazon IoT Analytics documentation for more information.

List Channels

Returns a list of Amazon IoT Analytics channels and additional metadata.

List Datasets

Returns a list of Amazon IoT Analytics datasets and additional metadata. This report does not return the content of the datastore. Use the Get Dataset Content report to return the time series data.

List Datastores

Returns a list of Amazon IoT Analytics datastores and additional metadata. This report does not return the content of the datastore. Use the Get Dataset Content report to return the time series data.

List Pipelines

Returns a list of Amazon IoT Analytics pipelines and additional metadata.

List Tags For Resource

Returns a list of Amazon IoT Analytics resource tags and additional metadata.
Dataset Name Select the Amazon Web Services IoT Analytics dataset.
Filter (optional) select the filter to expand additional IoT data.
Resource ARN Enter the Resource ARN to receive data about Resource Tags.

Other Panes

For information about the remaining sections of the connector interface, including how to configure scheduling, retry, and update options, see Adding a DataSet Using a Connector.
