Domo Basic Training

Training format: Live online
Duration: Two days (9:30 – 17:00)

Domo Basic Training is a two-day online live training for new users who are working on Domo projects and new Domo administrators, as well as anyone who wants to understand the main Domo features.

Through lectures and exercises, users experience connecting to data sources, basic data preparation, design and creation, and the basic steps to create a dashboard. Domo Basic Training covers the following topics:

  • The Domo business management platform and system overview
  • The Domo user interface
  • Visualizations 1 (dashboards, collections, card creation part 1)
  • Visualization 2 (card creation part 2, design considerations, Drill Paths)

ETL Interface (Intermediate)

Training format: Live online training
Duration: 1.1 hours

ETL Interface (Intermediate) covers the ETL interface for users who are going to be working with data. This training covers the following topics:

  • Overview of the Domo ETL interface
  • “Data processing (ETL)” operations*

*This is centered on basic tile operations such as string operations and join operations.

Relative to target and relative to budget are frequently used indicators in various kinds of performance management. In this course, we will cover the typical data processing patterns for a budget sheet, which we envisage had been managed in Excel, needed to do everything up to joining actual data on Domo. We will also work through a practical exercise using sample data.

Upsert Processing (Advanced)

Upsert refers to “processing wherein a record is newly added if no record exists (INSERT), and a record is updated if a record does exist (UPDATE).” Users will learn methods for connecting and collecting only data that incrementally differs day to day from the connection source system to Domo. Users will work through a practical exercise using sample data.

Comparing Against the Previous Period and Controlling the Display Period (Advanced)

Comparing Against the Previous Period and Controlling the Display Period (Advanced)

Year over year and month over month are among the most common indicators used in various kinds of performance management. In this course, users will learn how to do data processing compared to the previous period using DataFlows, and will work through practical exercises using sample data.
