Intro

Consumption pricing is a way of paying for Domo where organizations are billed based on their overall usage, rather than charged for a predetermined number of licenses. This gives organizations unlimited access to our platform—user seats are free, and no products sit behind a paywall. To use Domo with the consumption model, organizations purchase a pool of credits that will support their usage over the period of their contract (typically 1–3 years). This article describes what credits are and how they are consumed. You can see the Consumption Terms for more information. We have created a number of tools to help you monitor and confidently use your credits. To learn more, see Credit Monitoring.

What Are Credits?

Consumption credits are a standard unit of usage. They are like a currency within Domo that organizations purchase and consume by using any and all of what the platform offers. Consumption credits fall into three different categories that support different types of data storage and product usage. See the table below for more information about the credit categories.

Credit Category

Description

Standard Credits

These credits can be applied to any credit consumption. They can be depleted by any other credit-using feature after specific category credit allocations are depleted.

Materialized Row Credits

These credits are allocated specifically for materialized rows. Allocation occurs on a monthly basis. Agreements specify the baseline number of rows (millions) included in this category; this is converted to a credit balance per month.

If an organization’s usage of these credits exceeds their allotted monthly credits, Standard Credits are then used

Virtual Row Credits

These credits are allocated specifically for virtual rows. Allocation occurs on a monthly basis. Agreements specify the baseline number of rows (millions) included in this category; this is converted to a credit balance per month.

If an organization’s usage of these credits exceeds their allotted monthly credits, Standard Credits are then depleted.

**Some users may see “manual” or “legacy” type credits in their reporting. These credit types facilitated the transition to our generally available consumption pricing system.

How Are Credits Consumed?

Credits are consumed by using Domo. Organizations have access to all features and the credits they purchase are consumed as they use the features. Generally, all features and functionality in Domo are powered by storage (data rows under management in Domo) and compute (executions performed on that data). The number of credits consumed by each function varies. See the Consumption Terms for more detailed information. To learn about tracking your credit consumption, see Credit Monitoring.
