About the scholarship

For the 2013 academic year, Domo will provide two scholarships of $2,500 each for college students who are studying business management and who show an interest in analytics.

Here’s why:

Gartner Research says that over the next four years, “a total of 6 million jobs in the U.S. will be generated by the information economy.” Accenture and SAS research also state that in 2012, “nearly three in four (72%) business in the US were planning to increase their spending on analytics—even as many other budgets were squeezed.” However, Gartner’s research also suggests that only about one-third of global demand for new big data-related jobs will actually be met.

While pundits are accrediting the gap to IT departments and pivot table experts, Domo believes there will be a huge demand for mid-level and senior managers with hands-on experience accessing and applying data-driven insights to better manage their business.

Bottom line: there is a demand for data-driven leaders, and Domo is helping tomorrow’s businesses to fill it.
